The Lewes Police Department is co-located with the City Administrative Offices and the Lewes Board of Public Works within the Lewes City Hall Building, 114 E. Third Street, Lewes, Delaware. The department consists of a police chief, thirteen full-time officers and an administrative assistant. Within the Department, there are several specialized units such as Criminal Investigation, Bicycle Patrol (seasonal), Beach Patrol (life guards) Meter Police, and a Canine Unit. Together, the members of the department provide high quality, professional community oriented police services to our citizens.

If you have an emergency that requires an immediate response, DIAL 9-1-1 to report the emergency to the Sussex County Emergency Dispatch Center so that the appropriate assistance can be made available as quickly as possible.

If you have a police issue that is not an emergency, but requires you to speak to an officer, please contact our department at 645-6264 during normal business hours or email the department at the addresses provided above.
