The City of Lewes operates two docking facilities; the Canalfront Park Marina and the City Dock, both located along Front Street on the southern bank of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal. CANALFRONT PARK MARINA

The Canalfront Park Marina is open between April 1 and November 30 and has 19 boat slips to accommodate seasonal and transient boaters. Thirteen of the slips are reserved for seasonal use by Lewes residents. Six of the slips (three large and three small) are available for transient boaters. The large slips can accommodate a boat up to 55' in length and 16' beam. The small slips can hold a boat up to 25' in length and 12' beam. The existing water depth within the marina basin is generally 6 feet (plus or minus) mean low water based on 2008 dredging. Seasonal boat slips are: $3,000 for a small slip (up to 25' length, 12' beam) and large slips are $3,500 (up to 55' lenght, 16' beam) Transient boat slips may be reserved for a maximum of seven (7) consecutive days, with a one-time seven (7) day renewal, pending availability. The rental fee for the transient slips is $2 per running foot per day. If available, two of the slips may be used without reservation for short-term stays of three (3) hours or less at no charge. Vessels that stay beyond three (3) hours are charged the daily rate of $2 per running foot per day. Between October 1 and November 30, transient slips that are not reserved are available for monthly reservations at $475 per month.

The Marina boat slips can accommodate a boat up to 25 feet in length and 12 feet in beam; or a boat up to 55 feet in length, 16 feet in beam and a draft of 3' 6" or less (at low tide). The boat slip lease rate is $2.00 per linear foot per day. Transient boat slips are available for a maximum of 7 consecutive days.

LEWES CITY DOCK

The City Dock is a 200 foot long dock on Front Street, near the Canalfront Park Marina. It has an existing water depth of 10 feet (plus or minus) mean low water. Boaters may use the dock for short stays up to three hours for $10 per hour. Boaters who stay beyond three hours will be charged $2 per running foot per day. The City Dock is sectioned into four 50 foot long boat slips that can accommodate small and larger vessels. Boat slips may be reserved in advance for a maximum of seven (7) consecutive days, with a one-time seven (7) day renewal, pending availability. The rental fee is $2 per running foot per day.

DOCKMASTER OPERATIONS AND RESERVATIONS

Please contact the Dockmaster at 302-644-1869 regarding boat slip availability. The Dockmaster's Office is located within the Park Administration Building located at 211 Front Street, Lewes. Dockmaster office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. When placing a reservation, please provide your name, phone number, length of boat (with draft) and date and time of arrival. Boat slips are not reserved until full payment is received and the reservation is confirmed. To reserve a slip, you may print out the Canalfront Park Marina Agreement (Transient) Form complete the information, and fax the completed form to the Dockmaster at (302) 644-9069.
