Board of Public Works

The Lewes Board of Public Works was authorized by an act of the General Assembly on March 15, 1901 to establish, control and regulate an electric light plant, water works, and a sewer system for the City of Lewes. The General Manager of the Board of Public Works is appointed by the Board's elected officials to administer all of the administrative affairs of the Board.

UTILITY RATES


ELECTRIC RATES

The following Tables of Electric Rates reflect the current rates for:

* Incidental use of a residence for other purposes may be permitted, if approved by the Board of Public Works. Residences used principally for commercial purposes, however, may not be served under this Schedule, unless the commercial use is metered and served separately under the appropriate Schedule.

Effective June 1, 2006, monthly bills will be rendered for electric service based on the appropriate Table of Current Electric Rates.

WATER and WASTE WATER RATES

Effective October 1, 2008, each metered service connection, both inside and outside of the City, will be billed monthly for the applicable Ready to Serve Charge plus the Consumption Charges for water and wastewater service as reflected on the Table of Water & Wastewater Rates.

Seasonal and unoccupied properties or properties having zero water usage will be billed the Minimum plus the Ready-to-Serve Charge monthly and on a year-round basis.

MISCELLANEOUS UTILITY FEES

Effective October 1, 2008, Miscellaneous Utility Fees for electric and water services that are in addition to the basic utility rates reflected above have been revised..
