Toys for Tots at City Hall

11/21/2016

The holiday season is quickly approaching and the City of Lewes is participating, once again, in the Marine Toys for Tots Program.

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Their goal is to send a message of hope to underprivileged children and to help give them the experience of joy at Christmas time. They will be distributing the toys throughout Sussex County.

A Toys for Tots Christmas box is currently located in the foyer of Lewes City Hall (as a drop off point) for anyone wishing to participate in giving toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Program. The toy must be new and unwrapped. Keep in mind when purchasing your toy(s) that it may require additional items to be bought—batteries, CD players requiring CDs, etc. The toys will be given to needy children that may not have the funds to purchase additional items. We will be collecting toys through December 15th. If you do not wish to purchase a toy, and would like to make a financial contribution instead, the funds will be used to purchase a toy(s).

If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact Lewes City Hall (302) 645-7777. Thank you for your participation.
