2016 Summer Concert Series



Concerts in Stango Park bring 5 new performers to Lewes


The City of Lewes announces another great line up for the summer concert series in Stango Park for 2016.  Every Tuesday evening from June 14 to August 30, there will be a free concert starting at 7:00 p.m. on the open air stage in Stango Park next to the Lewes library.  A diverse music lineup is being offered from country bluegrass, RB/Hip Hop, classic rock, big band and more.  A family friendly event, all are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, snacks, and their dancing shoes. 


The 2016 summer concert series lineup includes;

            June 28           United States Navy Band- Country Current

            July 5               Eddie Sherman Show

            July 12             Acoustic Jam

            July 19             Smooth Sound Dance Band

            July 26             Over Time

            August 2         Windy Ridge

            August 9         Zydeco-a-go-go

            August 16       The Funsters

            August 23       Chesapeake Brass Band

            August 30       The Christopher Dean Band


This marks the thirteenth year (13th) of the Lewes summer concert series, which is managed and coordinated by volunteers and the Lewes Parks & Recreation commission.  Over forty (40) bands submitted to be considered for the 2016 lineup.  Submissions are evaluated on visual and audio samples as a group, artistic quality, including overall talent, creativity, diversity, tone, stage conduct, audience engagement and interaction, and budget.  Performers may submit a package to be considered for the 2017 series at the end of this year in December.


The concerts are supported by the City of Lewes, a grant from WSFS bank, and a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on
