City of Lewes TULIP DIG April 25th

Free tulip bulbs, dig them up and take them home

The City of Lewes in partnership with Lewes In Bloom will have the annual tulip dig on Monday April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  The public is invited to bring their shovels, spades, trowels, and bags to assist the city and Lewes In Bloom with removing the tulip bulbs and giving them a new home.  Close to 15,000 tulip bulbs were planted by Lewes In Bloom for the 7th Annual Lewes Tulip Festival.

The following areas are included in the tulip dig: 1812 Park, Citizens Bank on Second Street, City Hall, Canalfront Park, Lewes Firehouse, Graves & Dogfish Inn, Gateway garden on Freeman Highway, Mary Vessels Park, Otis Smith Park, Post Office, Stango Park, St. Peters Church barrels, and Zwaanandael Park.  Each dig location will be supervised by a Lewes In Bloom member or Parks & Recreation commissioner.

In case of inclement weather, the tulip dig will be moved to Tuesday April 26th
