FREE TULIP BULBS, dig them up & take them home

Free tulip bulbs, dig them up and take them home
The City of Lewes in partnership with Lewes In Bloom will have the annual tulip dig on Monday April 24th from 8:00 a.m. to noon.  The public is invited to bring their shovels, spades, trowels, and bags to assist the city and Lewes In Bloom with removing the tulip bulbs and giving them a new home.  Close to 20,000 tulip bulbs were planted by Lewes In Bloom for the 8th Annual Tulip Celebration.
The following areas are included in the tulip dig:
            1812 Park
            Citizens Bank on Second Street
Gateway Garden (Island between Freeman Highway)
            New Lewes Library
            Mary Vessels Park
Otis Smith Park (aka Rotary Pavilion)
            Post Office
            Stango Park
            St. Peters Church barrels
            Zwaanandael Park
The public is reminded that only the areas listed above are included in the tulip dig. No digging can occur before 8:00 a.m. or in areas not listed.  Each dig location will be supervised by a Lewes In Bloom member or Parks & Recreation commissioner.  Do not remove any other plants or flowers besides tulips. Please bring your own gloves, trowel, and bags.
In case of inclement weather, the tulip dig will be moved to Tuesday April 25th.  More information on Lewes parks and recreation can be found on their website or on their Facebook page @LewesDEParks.
