The City of Lewes starts picking up recycling

Beginning on Monday, October 16, 2017, the City of Lewes will no longer use a contractor to collect residential recycling. There should be no noticeable change in the service, except that City crews using City trucks will be doing the collection.
In an effort to help the public better understand what can be collected in the single-stream recycling program, the City of Lewes is hosting a workshop with staff from DSWA on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Workshop participants will learn about how materials are sorted at the sorting facility and be given a clear understanding of what is accepted in the recycling program.
