Burglary at Lewes Yacht Club Arrested


On July 16th, 2018, at approximately 5pm, an individual later identified as David Honeycutt, a white male age 30, entered the Lewes Yacht Club located in the 2700 block of Cedar Avenue, Lewes, Delaware while the club was open for business.  Once inside, Honeycutt entered into an area where club employees stored personal items and removed three employee purses and took property from them.  Honeycutt was scared off by a club employee and fled the scene. 


With the assistance of the Delaware State Police and Yacht Club surveillance video, the Lewes Police Department was able to positively identify Honeycutt as the perpetrator.  As a result, he was arrested while at the Sussex Correctional Institute on DSP charges and charged with 1 count of Burglary 3rd, 3 counts of Theft and 2 counts of criminal Mischief.  Honeycutt remains jailed at SCI with a $6,200 secured bail.
