Lewes Gateway Master Plan Workshops

April 10 & April 15
The City of Lewes will sponsor (2) two public workshops, one on April 10th and one on April 15th, to discuss the Master Plan for the Lewes Gateway Project. The workshops will be held from 4pm to 7pm at Lewes City Hall, 114 E. Third Street, Lewes. A formal presentation explaining the key elements will be held at 4:30pm at each workshop.
The Lewes Gateway includes Stango Park and the current Lewes Public Library, together with an adjacent 6-acre parcel acquired by the City of Lewes in December 2012.  The newly acquired property is the site of the new Lewes Public Library, as well as a new trailhead for the State's 17.8 mile Georgetown-Lewes-Cape Henlopen Rail with Trail project. The new parcel creates an expanded Stango Park along both sides of the new trail.
The public is invited to attend these workshops to learn more about the new library and trailhead, and offer comments and ideas on potential new amenities for both the trailhead and expanded Stango Park. Opportunities to ask questions and offer comments on the Plan will be available throughout each open house workshop.
Ideas generated from the workshops will be considered in the development of a preliminary Master Plan design, which is anticipated to be ready for public review in early May. A final Master Plan is planned to be completed around May 15th.
Landscape Architectural Services LLC and Chura & Associates have been retained to assist the City with the design and public facilitation of the Gateway Master Plan.
