Hurricane Preparedness & Flood Risk Awareness Workshop

It’s Hurricane Season - Are You Ready?

Hurricane Preparedness and Flood Risk Awareness Workshop

August 28, 2014

The City of Lewes Mitigation Planning Team will hold a public workshop, on Thursday, August 28, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in Cannon Lab Room 104 at the University of Delaware’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes.

This free workshop is open to all Lewes residents.

It’s hurricane season – are you ready?  It’s not too late to get prepared! The Lewes Mitigation Planning Team is sponsoring a free seminar with hurricane preparedness and flood risk awareness tips for all Lewes residents. Flood risk, hurricane history and hazards, and preparedness measures will be the topics covered during the workshop. Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, and peaks in mid-August through October; the most common month for hurricanes to make landfall is September. Even though hurricanes cannot be controlled, our vulnerability and risk can be reduced through preparedness.

A preliminary agenda is attached.
