The City of Lewes is proud to offer a variety of public open spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. The Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission, a group of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and Council, work together to protect the natural and cultural resources in those parks while providing sustainable recreation access to the community. City staff, Lewes in Bloom members, local volunteers, and private contractors, supplement the work of the Parks and Recreation Commission to maintain the Lewes parks. Volunteers in Lewes play a major role in the City's beautification, investing thousands of hours each year.
