MARINA/CITY DOCK INFORMATION

The City of Lewes operates two docking facilities: the Canalfront Park Marina and the City Dock at 1812 Park, both located along Front Street on the southern bank of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal.

CANALFRONT PARK MARINA

The Canalfront Park Marina is open between April 1 and November 30 and has 19 boat slips to accommodate seasonal and transient boaters. Thirteen of the slips are reserved for seasonal use by Lewes residents. Six of the slips (2 large and 4 small) are available for transient boaters. The large slips can accommodate a boat up to 55’ in length and 16’ beam. The small slips can hold a boat up to 25’ in length and 12’ beam. The existing water depth within the marina basin is currently 5 feet (plus or minus) mean low water based on measurements in February 2022.  Seasonal boat slips are: $3,000 for a small slip (up to 25’ length, 12’ beam) and large slips are $3,900 (up to 55’ length, 16’ beam) Transient boat slips may be reserved depending on availability.

OTIS B. SMITH CITY DOCK at 1812 Park

The City Dock is a 200 feet long, located along Front Street at 1812 park. It has an existing water depth of 10 feet (plus or minus) mean low water. The City Dock is sectioned into four 50 foot boat slips that can accommodate small and large vessels. Boat slips may be reserved in advance for seven (7) consecutive days, which can be extended depending on availability.

TRANSIT SLIP Reservations and fees

Effective March 13, 2020, the rental fee for transient slips at the Canalfront Park Marina and the City Dock will be $3.00 per foot LOA per day (Length overall).  Click HERE for Transient information, terms, and fees.  

You may submit a reservation request by email to the dockmaster. Download the Transient Reservation Request Form and email it to dockmaster@ci.lewes.de.us or call at 302-644-1869.  We will contact you by e-mail with your reservation confirmation.

Hourly dockage

HOURLY STAYS ARE TO BE NO LONGER THAN 4 HOURS [$15 per hour up to 25'LOA + $5 for each additional 5'LOA] per hour. (Between the hours of 12noon-10pm.)    Vessels scheduled for full-day stays have priority over hourly rate short stays and will be upcharged to the daily rate after 4 hours.  For hourly rates to apply, you must call the Dockmasters office after 8am, on a first call, first serve basis and will only apply to that same day.  After 4pm, hourly rates are first come first serve, and money for stays shall be deposited into a drop box located at the dock.  Hourly Slip Fees are posted on the drop box on every dock.  Stays after 4pm are to be no longer than 4 hours.  IF THE SLIP IS MARKED AS RESERVED IT IS NOT AN HOURLY SLIP.  

DOCKMASTER Hours of OPERATION

The Dockmaster’s office is staffed 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday April 1 to Memorial Day weekend and then everyday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  The office and marina close November 30.  Please contact the Dockmaster at (302) 644-1869 or at dockmaster@ci.lewes.de.us regarding boat slip availability at either the City Dock or at the Canalfront Park Marina. The Dockmaster’s Office is located within the Net House, located at 211 Front Street, Lewes.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers voluntary vessel safety checks to ensure your vessel has all the safety equipment it needs.
